Snow Day

We were hit with another crazy snow storm on Feb. 13th. It hit suddenly at around 2:30. There were strong winds and heavy snow. It made it very hard to drive anywhere. Which was especially bad because that is the time school get's out, and right before rush hour.

There were accidents everywhere. Utah County got hit really bad. Traffic was at a stand still for 4-6 hours in places. School busses got stranded with kids in them for up to 4 hours. Several kids & teachers (and later parents) even had to spend the night in one of the elementary schools near Lehi. Because of all of the slippery snow and snow drifts everywhere, most schools delayed opening for 2 hours on Thursday morning.

In the morning, when the sun came out, it was beautiful! Especially before anyone had walked or driven through it. If only it could stay looking so pretty.

Here is a brief video of the snow storm. It doesn't look as bad in front of my house as it was out on the streets where there weren't any buildings blocking the wind. But you can get an idea of how windy it was.
